For now, it looks as though the early reports of Republicans promising donors that they would not repeal Obamacare is false. That's cool. However, we need to push the entire Republican party to vote on this. I know Obama will veto the bill, but we need to get every single Republican on record as to whether they support, with their vote, not their mouth, the repeal of Obamacare. Those Republicans who won't vote for repeal can then be replaced with Republicans who promise to vote for repeal in 2012, along with a Republican president who also promises to repeal Obamacare.
Let's be realistic here. The very law, as written, ensures that private health insurance fails within a few years. To then be replaced with single-payer. And when a majority of voters are dependent upon the state for something so critical as health insurance for their family, then the Democrats have a permanent majority voting block. Most people don't give a rat's ass whether GM recovers or fails. I don't either. And we all have many alternatives to purchasing a GM car. But there is no alternative to having health insurance for most people.
When the Democrats are permanently in power, we will have "General Betrayus" politicians and socialist running the show. We will have "This war is lost!" politicians voting on our country's defense. We will have "At some point you've earned enough money" politicians deciding on what your upper limit of success is, all the while pulling in unlimited money from insider deals and pork-barrel earmarks for friends, family and supporters. This is what the modern Democrat Party is. This is what their supporters are most proud of. This is what they intend for you, and me, and our children.
This cannot stand. The repeal of Obamacare is the first step in our liberation from those who dislike everything that our freedom means. And we can start that liberation by replacing every single politician who does not stand for repealing Obamacare, including Obama.
