There has been some speculation as to why the President is going on such a long, and long delayed, trip right after the beating his party took on Tuesday. It's pretty simple. Barack Obama is not a good loser. He's a very sore loser. And his people know it. And they need to keep him away from the reporters who will continue to bring up questions that have to do with the losses, now near record, the Democrats took in the mid-terms.
There is an easy way to check my theory that Obama is a sore loser who will do permanent damage to his image and his party's image if he stays in America over the next few weeks. Pay attention to what he says off prompter in the various locales and how he says it; if he says anything at all. Will he be calm, cool, collected? Will he be fatalistic? Will he be conciliatory? Will he be gracious? I doubt he will be any of these. He will, if allowed to speak at all off telepromter (his handlers will surely see to it that there is a telepromter at every public venue, such as when he reads to the Indian Parliment, be petty, petulant, snarky, condenscending, bitter. Because Obama has never been able to do two things; avoid speaking when his telepromter is cooling down, and hide his hatred of America and Americans. And that hatred was built up in him when America (and various Americans) were providing Obama with the kind of life and opportunities that is available only in America. Now that a majority of those Americans are no longer willing to bow to their king, it will only be a matter of time before Obama lets loose a fulisade of anti-American rhetoric in public.
Obama's handlers know quite well that with the news cycle as it is, with the mainstream media acting as passive as Pravda did at the height of Stalin's power, and with the tendency of some Republican to shoot themselves in the foot at just the right time, Obama will be able to ride out any storm over his remarks. If his return to the US is more than 48 hours away, the mainstream media will have the ability to tut-tut any "misstatement" by Obama for one 24 hour cycle, and then have enough time to dig up something, anything, on some minor Republican somewhere. Heck, they may even bring up the most appropriate political advice ever given a US Senator in the last 50 years when Cheney told Senator Leahy to "go fuck himself".
Keep in mind that Obama is known to be arrogant, conceited, and thin-skinned, even by his friends. He's also the least prepared, least accomplished man to ever reach the White House, and his greatest accomplishment that will ever take place in his life, the health care bill, is now in the Congressional emergency room on life support. Right now, even as he's preparing to board a gorgeous Boeing 747, to fly with his family to exotic locales at American taxpayer expense, his head is ringing loudly with Rev Wright's words "No, no, no! Not God bless America! God damn America!". You can count on it. And shortly, if you are very quiet, and very attentive, you'll hear it.
