When you read about poor Harry Reid screwing up the DADT repeal, or anything at all about the DADT repeal written by a Leftie, the main point is always that a majority of Americans support a repeal of DADT.
I must be confused here. Prior to the passage of Obamacare, a majority of Americans were opposed to the bill. Every poll prior to the vote showed a huge majority of Americans opposed the passage of Obamacare. And at that time, Leftists couldn't have cared less what the Americans were saying; Reid and Pelosi were ramming it through anyway. In fact the public is still opposed to Obamacare, and a majority believe it will be bad for the country, and support its repeal. But as far as Obamacare is concerned, Leftists and Democrats don't give a flying fuck what the public believes or wants.
So if a majority of Americans wants the repeal of DADT, Lefties say that's a huge factor in why it should be repealed. But if a majority of Americans want the repeal of Obamacare, Lefties say Americans can go fuck themselves.
I can't decide whether it's easy to be a Leftie because there's no more reasoning needed for any position other than "it feels right", or if it's hard to be a Leftie because in the final analysis, there is no intellectual foundation for any of their beliefs.
