Hey, I resemble that. Three years ago I tried to enlist. I was told "39 max, sir". I said "You're kidding!" Nope. They weren't.
Just missed the cutoff by, oh - about 14 years.
So I try to give you guys (and my son) all the moral support I can. :)
Get 'em diggs.

Let's imagine that Al Gore was president and had done exactly as Bush has done in Iraq. Would the nutcases here be saying the same thing about the recruiting age continuing to rise? I know it's a foolish request, but be honest. Hah!

Surely you jest. Neither Gore nor Kerry had then or has now any courage or moral fiber to do the right thing.

The only nutcase I keep seeing on this blog is you. Can you just answer your own question without bothering anyone else?

My grandfather was 40 in 1942 when he went into the army, so there is certainly a precedent for this kind of thing. Apparently making use of all available manpower was OK under a Democratic president but not under a Republican one. But for those who oppose the war, anything is an excuse to issue a denunciation.
