Readers, tell me please. Is WW for real, or do you think he (she) is really a conservative trying to make Lefties look bad by using poor reasoning and even poorer debating skills?
I just don't know if someone could really be so far gone into BDS that they would call a soldier who writes about their support for the lifting of a ban on gay servicemembers a member of..let's see, what's his exact words..."evangelical wingnuts and whackos in the military"? To use some of the more kind words.
Is it possible to be that out of touch with reality that they forget which side of an issue they are on?
I've noticed an increase in support within the military for dropping the ban on gays. It comes as something of a surprise, although I suppose even the wingnuts evenutally wind up facing reality. Who knows, maybe in 10 or 15 years you'll face the reality that your Liar-in-Chief sucked you into a war on false pretense, managed it with utter incompetence and very nearly destroyed the military and his country's values, reputation and influence in the process.
But that will take a while. And I'm sure you'll blame it on a Clinton. It's what you do.

By the way, now I know why you lie so constantly and so effortlessly. This from a story about a Christian wingnut political convention:
In a workshop, Connie Marshner, a veteran organizer, distributed a step-by-step guide that recommended obtaining church directories and posing as a nonpartisan pollster to ask people how they planned to vote.
“Hello, I am with ABC polls,” a suggested script began.
Some attendees complained that the script seemed deceptive, Ms. Marshner said in an interview afterward. She said that such disguised calls were a common campaign tactic, that it was just a suggested script and that she never recommended answering a direct question with a lie.
Diggs, tell us why the "godly" are the biggest liars.

as you can tell by the tone of my posts, i dont take WW to serious. i just think he has had too many glasses of Ted Kennedy cool-aid for his own good. his hate for the right(goose-steppers, liar-in- chief, neo-cons, uneducated war mongerers, christian wingnuts) has clouded his ability to reason. no amount of fact used to substantiate a right leaning position and/or statement will ever be enough for him. i do however love his posts and find them extremely entertaining. WW is by far my favorite moonbat!

Go torture someone, RJ. It works so well.

By the way, Diggs, of course your readers (other than me) will tell you what you want to hear. Just like the military tells itself what it wants to hear. Mission Accomplished, baby.

ww. I am not very conservative and I am gay - I have not said that here, I served honorably for over 6 years and was wounded in action. I don't ask for much. I am not very artuculate in these conversations and should probably shut the fuck up, but about all your agner and meanness does is depress the fuck out of me. I don't necessarly disagree with some of your points, just like I don;t always agree with Diggs, but in that same point - why should I even try to stick around. Sometimes hearing this shit makes me want to finsh the job and just fucking be done with this god damm sit. Fuck you and everyone who just can't be Americans without having to throw fucking stones at each other as if they have the cornner on the truth. I don't have any cornner on the truth, all I have is a fucked up body and dead friends. You can blame the president or anyone else and you can make shit on me for being a dumb ass on capitalizing shit. I am sorry you hate me so much. All I ever wanted to do is serve and be a good Marine. This shit sucks - no one really gives a shit about each other. Life is fucked and who gives a shit.
Posted by: A.M. | September 25, 2006 at 06:44 PM
Hey, A.M., life ain't fucked. It only looks that way. People do give a shit about each other, including me. Beyond that, I'm not going to try to win any more arguments here. It's gone far enough. I'm also not going to try and do the, "I feel your pain" thing, because I don't and I can't and it would be a lie to pretend otherwise.
I'm sorry for your losses, and I mean it. I'm sure this will be followed by a whole bunch of postings about what a rotten bastard I am and how my words are insufficiently overflowing, but that's not my style and it would be phony to try to make it my style now.
There's a brotherhood of the civilized in this world. They find each other and they help. They're everywhere you look, and they'll help you on your way.
To the rest, this is pretty much it for my postings on this board. I'll look in on this thread to see if A.M.'s okay, but otherwise I'm done here. Do what you want, but I'd appreciate it if you'd all dial it down, 'cause that's what I'm going to do.

In Memorium - by A.M.
Beast you're unwelcome
you eat at my soul,
You stomp my heart
and devour me whole,
Lacking of passion
I'm empty and cold,
No way I'll surrender
not to grow old.
My tears fill an ocean
where no hope can be,
No light does enter
and no one can see,
Dark is my place
filled with black energy,
Living crushed and broken
deep down in my sea.
I'll never forget you
now that you're free,
Living in heaven
for eternity,
Brothers forever
me and you three,
Semper Fidelis!
my buddies peace be.
"404" - by A.M.
As his blood drained his spirit lifted
I held him close as we drifted
Mom, mom, mom he plead as he bled
Bleeding red red red he was dead
When I awoke he was gone
None no more now alone
His echo is in my head
As he calls from the dead
calling me in my bed
I see him bleed red red red

AM, hang in there Marine, and stay around those who lift you up. If this site is making you think things are bad out there, that's not the intent, though I will admit that the political discourse in the nation has gone downhill. Godwin's Law used to be a useful tool for political debate, however the Left has broken that law so many times it doesn't even make sense to bring it up anymore.
I don't have a lot of time to do the research anymore on wildlife and the environment, but if you have an interest in that, I do have a lot of early posts on those subjects right here on this site. You are welcome to read them, it's my real interest, very apolitical and uncontroversial.
If you are in Colorado Springs anytime after I'm back, let me know. I'd love to share a drink and some stories.

Diggs - WW aka Willy has been posting on many what he/she calls "so-called milblogs". He has been insulting others, calling them names and repeating many of the same things. He got banned on many blogs. There is NO discussion - just slogans and insults. It is just unfortunate that he preys on your hospitality here.
A.M. - sorry for your losses. I hope that time will ease your pain. I lost few friends and know many families who lost their Marine and Navy sons in the last 5 years. One day at the time.
Thak you so much for your service!

So- we've finally identified WW as a troll and we can move on? Great. I really can't stand morons.
(countdown to WW insult, W minus five, four...)

Like I wrote a few postings before, I'm outta here. I'm posting only in this thread, and only because I want to satisfy myself that A.M. isn't going to take his own life. I have been a suicide counselor and I take any mention of suicide very seriously. My participation on this website is over with, other than for the narrow purpose I've just mentioned.
A.M., are you doing okay? Unlike some people my screen name connects to a real e-mail account that I check from time to time, so you can contact me if you want. Or just post here that things are okay, and we're done.
Posted by: WW | September 26, 2006 at 09:44 AM
Update: I should have checked my e-mail account before posting the last message. A.M. has e-mailed me to say he's okay. So, folks, I'm outta here. You've got the place back to yourselves. Happy trails.

For A.M.
I'll Keep It With Mine
Bob Dylan
You will search, babe,
At any cost
But how long, babe,
Can you search for what's not lost
Ev'rybody will help you
Some people are very kind
But if I can save you any time
Come on, give it to me
I'll keep it with mine
I can't help it
If you might think I'm odd
If I say I'm not loving you for what you are
But for what you're not
Everybody will help you
Discover what you set out to find
But if I can save you any time
Come on, give it to me
I'll keep it with mine
The train leaves
At half past ten
But it'll be back tomorrow
Same time again
The conductor he's weary
He's still stuck on the line
But if I can save you any time
Come on, give it to me
I'll keep it with mine

Is WW for real?
Check
do you think he (she) is really a conservative
No.
trying to make Lefties look bad
He doesn't need to make lefties look bad.
using poor reasoning
Check.
even poorer debating skills?
Well, he doesn't shy away from a debate - he just doesn't bring anything to the table. Other than calling everyone a liar.
A.M. - Once a Marine, always a Marine. This is not about taking your own life - it's about losing friends you served with. You could have lost yours. But it didn't happen. The field of battle doesn't pick winners and losers. The warriors do. As respectable milbloggers have all said "It's the way war is - and it always sucks." If it hadn't been the day you were hurt, it may have been another. Or not at all. I lost friends in Vietnam. They were good people, people with girlfriends and families and dreams to follow. No Marine thinks any different than you. We all come home one way or another. You were luckier than some but not as lucky as others. A broken body is something you can overcome. A broken spirit is not nearly as easy to fix, regardless of any other details.
As you can tell by Diggs' earlier post on the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy, most folks (and many military posters) agree that it's not necessary. Blackfive and Neptunos Lex had the same rant going, with the same results, a few months back. As I had commented, it seems that many very respected military bloggers have the same attitude - get rid of the policy. So please don't feel that your sexual preference has anything to do with the quality of your service. You have obviously done an honorable job. What matters now is what you will do in the future. It should be as honorable as the past. Go after it.
WW - the only over the top problem you have is that everyone's a liar - except you. Get over that and you'd probably get a lot more attention.

Sorry for nutting out. Things have been a bit heavy and all of this got me going. I know that I am lucky to have come home. My family got to see me again and not in a box. I owe it to my buddies and the men and women who risked themselves to save me - to stick around and do the best I can.
So anyway, Sir (Diggs) I sent you and email and it was returned, but might be in your yahoo - and one to WW. I did not mean to sound off like that or worry folks. I sounded like a real pussy.
I don't want to stir up more shit here, but I have to say I got a really nice return email back from WW. I know there is a ton of fighting with WW over issues, but he did send me a nice email in return. I feel it only fair to say he was a stand up person off blog. I know people will want to jump on this one way or another, but I would rather leave it as the dude put his hand out and even with all of the fighting it was good.
Outside of that - tblubrd - I do appreciate Diggs and other officers and enlisted service members and non gays who have spoken out against DADT. Let me add to the appreciate comment - I respect them very much for standing up on a generally unpopular postion.

Don't worry at all about it, A.M., there wasn't a single thing wrong with what you posted. Every time you see the sun rise it's God's miracle. It's given to us every 24 hours, and it's worth stickin' around for.

A.M. you didn't sound like a pussy, you just said what you had to say. Personally i think dadt is a buch of shite. The question is how well can you perform not what's your sexual preference.(Done)

For A.M.
The Baseball Game
A couple months ago, I took a couple relatives to see the Seattle Mariners play the Boston Red Sox. Great seats on the third base line, beautiful day. It wouldn't have mattered whether the game was any good, but as it turned out it was one of the best baseball games I've ever seen.
Score is tied 6-6 at the bottom of the eighth. Mariner guy hits an inside the park home run, which is like a shot of adrenalin straight to the heart. Outfielders bobbling the ball. They miss the throw to the cutoff guy. Meanwhile, the runner is going like a bat outta hell, slides into home plate. At the end of the inning, the Mariners lead it 7-6.
In the top of the 9th, Mariners bring in their closer, a fastball pitcher with a fresh arm. First two guys up are the cream of the Red Sox line up, guys with batting averages well over .300. He strikes 'em both out. Third strike on the second guy is a dirtball. Everyone in the stadium (which is full) is expecting a third strikeout and the game to be over. Red Sox hitter is a guy with a .240 average. I turn to Mike and say, "Game's over. Varitek isn't any hitter."
Oh, and there are a shitload of Boston fans at this game, and we're in the middle of them 'cause the third base line is behind the visitor's dugout. The Red Sox is less a team than it is a cult. They have this big bunch of rabid fans that follow them around the country. I suspect that a fair number of Sox fans had planned their Seattle vacations around this series.
Varitek, this weak hitter in the top of the ninth facing the Mariner's closer who is throwing fastballs in excess of 95 mph, hits a home run, tying the game. This wasn't an ordinary home run. Varitek just crushed it. It was the ultimate "Fuck You" statement. The second you heard the crack of the bat you knew it was outta there. The Mariners baseball palace has a cafe called "Hit It Here" located between the two decks in the outfield. Varitek's home run is a line drive straight at the cafe, and bounces off the goddamn windows so hard you could hear the impact throughout the stadium. If this had happened at Fenway Park, which has regular bleachers in the outfield, that ball would have sailed all the way to Boston Harbor and killed a lobstah crawling along the bottom.
The Red Sox fans in our section are going nuts. The Mariners fans are going nuts. I'm doubled over in laughter, and telling Mike and his wife Cheryle that they've got to applaud Varitek's homer. They couldn't bring themselves to cheer, but I didn't care. Varitek's homer was so amazing that I had to appreciate it.
So it's the bottom of the ninth, tied 7-7. The first Mariner to bat steps up and hits another home run, ending the game at 8-7. Stadium goes nuts. The game is so outrageous that even the Boston fans are laughing. Everyone goes away happy on one of those picture postcard summer afternoons in Seattle that makes you just want to float away on the wind.
Moral of the story: All the good stuff happens in the 9th inning. But if you don't stick around, you'll never see it.
